Saudi Defense Minister Meets Pakistani Army Chief

(MENAFN) Khalid bin Salman, the defense minister of Saudi Arabia, said Friday that he held talks with Asim Munir, the chief of army staff of Pakistan, to review security developments in the region, including recent Iranian strikes targeting the kingdom.

The Saudi defense minister said the discussion focused on the attacks carried out by Iran against Saudi Arabia and took place within the context of the strategic defense cooperation agreement shared by the two countries.

“The meeting addressed the Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia within the framework of the strategic defense cooperation agreement between the two countries,” bin Salman wrote on X.

According to the minister, both sides also examined possible steps to stop the attacks and further deepen military cooperation between Riyadh and Islamabad.

He added that the conversation also emphasized the need for continued coordination between the two nations in addressing security threats and maintaining stability across the region amid ongoing military escalation.

“Both sides discussed the importance of coordination to confront security challenges and preserve regional stability amid the ongoing military escalation,” he added.
